Son de Cuba is a quintet created in August 2015 by musicians from The USA and Cuba, based in Portland, Oregon. The majority of the group are Cubans with roots in Latin, African, and Jazz rhythms. They blend this vast knowledge of beats together in classic and modern Latin songs.

So we brought in our friends The Wanna Be-52’s, DEVOtees, and Decadent ‘80s to host a benefit concert that will donate 100% of proceeds to the Portland Immigrant Rights Coalition (PIRC). This grassroots Portland organization runs a 24/7 hotline, provides legal support, and mobilizes volunteers to defend immigrant families across Oregon.

Divergent Dance is a queer West Coast Swing social creating brave, joyful spaces for queer, trans, nonbinary, and neurodivergent dancers. Join us for role-fluid dancing (lead, follow, switch, your choice!), beginner-friendly instruction and community connection that feels like home. Allies welcome.

Louis Pearl has been thrilling audiences around the world for over 30 years with the art, magic, science and fun of bubbles. He is a favorite at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where he has enjoyed twelve years of sell-out success.

Louis explores the breath-taking dynamics of bubbles, combining comedy and artistry with audience participation and enough spellbinding bubble tricks to keep everyone mesmerized. From square bubbles, bubbles inside bubbles, fog-filled bubbles, giant bubbles, bubble volcanoes, tornados and trampolines to people inside bubbles, the Amazing Bubble Man conjures shrieks of laughter and gasps of amazement from all ages.

Most shows will also feature multi instrumentalist Jet Black Pearl accompanying Louis with bubbly music to double your pleasure.

LIVE! is a brand-new, makeover-style show born here in Portland and about to tour the country!  Through fast-paced improv, five local Earth Archetypes (experimental scientist, systems thinker, gap bridger, artistic imagineer, and embodied mystic) team up to help one Portlander tackle their real-life climate question.

Come on down to The Jazz Room Portland! With a mix of carefully chosen classics and spontaneous improvisation, this feel-good live music performance takes you on a journey to the roots of this revolutionary genre.
