ARCIMOTO: SUMMER OF FUV

PDX SUMMER OF FUV
Saturday, August 12th
*Demos - 10AM - 4PM
FUV Owner Rally 7PM-8PM

*Valid driver’s license required

Hey, Portland! Have you been curious about that slick, zippy little three-wheeled vehicle that’s made in Eugene, OR? Well, we heard your call loud and clear. Join Arcimoto and the Alberta Abbey for a super fun day of free demo rides in Arcimoto’s 100% all electric Fun Utility Vehicle (FUV)! We’ll be hosting the ride and drive demos from the Abbey parking lot and running an exciting route through the adjacent N/NE neighborhoods. Rest assured, this vehicle is unlike anything you’ve ever driven. It’s light, nimble in city traffic and a highly interactive ride experience.

Christian Seabaugh from MotorTrend Magazine writes,
“The FUV largely lives up to its name when driven on surface streets. As you’d expect with a twin-motor EV—especially one weighing about 1,300 pounds—it feels quick. Arcimoto’s claimed 7.5-second 0-60-mph time feels about right from our butt dyno, though we suspect it could be quicker. The motors feel torque-limited at less than 25 mph, and if you’re travelling faster the throttle response becomes more linear and responsive, providing near instantaneous acceleration. The brakes—hydraulic discs at all three wheels—are easy to modulate, but a little more bite would go a long way, especially as the FUV approaches its 75-mph top speed.”
On the nature of this collaboration, University of Oregon Professor of Art and Alberta Abbey Board Member, Brian Gillis notes, “This partnership with Arcimoto is an important milestone for the Abbey as we branch out to corporate sponsorships that can afford us greater reach and more opportunities to support our community. With our recent addition to the National Historic Registry and a growing understanding of the impactful work of so many who came before us, it’s such a pleasure to work with a company with shared concern for social wellness and the environment, creative freedom, and the greater good”.
It’s been over a year since we last presented the FUV in Portland. We’re excited to develop this exciting creative partnership with the Alberta Abbey. We fully support their mission to unite community and provide venue space for promoting arts of the underrepresented in N/NE Portland.

RIDE AND DRIVE DEMO - 10AM - 4PM
Sign up, quick vehicle orientation, then ride or drive the FUV on a fixed course through the area neighborhood. Sessions are roughly less than 10 mins long. The Abbey will also be open for self guided tours and an open cafe with drinks and refreshments available.

Key Logistics Tips:
We are planning to host the event from the Alberta Abbey parking lot directly across the street from our host facility. Parking will be limited in the area to the available spots in the surrounding King neighborhood. On that note, we’d love to to tread lightly as possible on event day. Please consider walking, biking, or plan to car pool where possible, or consider taking TriMet. We’re easy walk off of bus lines 6, 44, 72!

CUSTOMER RALLY - 7PM - 8PM

Open invitation to current owners to gather for a ride through the city as a FUV PACK! Plan for an epic ride through some scenic Portland locations, as the camera team works the sunset for some dynamic beauty shots of you and your rad vehicle.

Key Logistics Tips:
The Alberta Abbey is hosting a music show 8 PM Saturday evening and will need full access to the parking lot for their arriving patrons. We won’t have room for tow trailers, so please plan to drive your FUV ONLY to the event location. Please notify your intent to attend by Thursday, Aug. 10th with our rally coordinator, Joe Morgan. Would be great to have a headcount before we launch! It’s our intent to share the rally route just prior to departure. Post rally l”end up” location as yet TBD.

ARCIMOTO MISSION
Our mission is to catalyze the shift to sustainable transportation. We believe that will only happen when we move away from oversized, overpriced, polluting vehicles to right-sized, ultra-efficient EVs we all can afford. We can’t afford not to.

ALBERTA ABBEY MISSION
We aim to nurture the creative, visual and performing arts in N/NE Portland by amplifying opportunities for Black and underrepresented communities. The Abbey serves this mission by providing affordable education, gallery, studio, and performance spaces, and showcasing events for local groups of all ages.
