Danni Lee Parpan
Danni Lee Parpan is a multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter based in Portland, OR. Her latest album, Truth Teller, explores distorted electric tenor ukulele and pushes the boundaries of how instruments are “supposed” to be played. Known for her high-energy live performances and witty stage banter, Danni Lee’s shows have been described as equal parts stand-up comedy and live music. Whether you laugh, cry, or do both, her emotionally charged lyrics will stick with you for weeks. Tonight, Danni Lee will be joined by her full band–lovingly known as “The Dykes”–featuring Juliet Terril on bass, Stephanie Podolak on keys and harmonies, Susie Polasky on drums, and Caroline Shaw on viola and harmonies. Danni Lee & The Dykes create a dynamic, full-bodied sound that elevates an already captivating performance.
In addition to her solo work, Danni Lee is also one half of Ringdown, an electronic cinematic pop duo with acclaimed composer Caroline Shaw. As Matthew Neil Andrews of Oregon ArtsWatch notes, “Parpan’s voice is dynamite–and a perfect complement to Shaw’s.” Together, they create a blend of haunting melodies and innovative soundscapes, and have quickly become a highly anticipated creative force.

Juliet and the East
A self-titled “queer storytelling rock cabaret”, Juliet and the East (JATE) has been making a splash in the Portland music scene since spring 2023. With their music spanning from country to punk to math to prog, JATE tells stories experienced by many in the queer community through a whimsical lens. The project is led by bassist and singer Juliet Terrill, whose virtuosic bass playing rivals her clever and poignant lyrics for center stage. Having formerly toured internationally with renowned soul group The Suffers, Juliet is now joined in JATE by Kynwyn Sterling on drums (Heirloom, Curling), Isabel Dammann on fiddle (Sprig of That, Ashleigh Flynn and the Riveters), JonLuc Hefferman on keys (LDY BTTRFLY, Eugene Hatman, Bill Quadrillion) and Joseph Mammarella (self-titled solo project) on guitar. Catch JATE around Portland this summer playing at various Pride events, and keep up with shows, new releases, and limitless bass shreddage on their Instagram @julietandtheeast.
