It is Monkey With a Hat On's 31st Ten Minute Play Festival! After doing this show for the past 12 years in Portland, we are excited to be in a bigger venue and bring you the theme that has always kept our theatrical hearts going... Magic!
In the Magic 10MPF, you will experience: a not-so-good magician commits a terrible tragedy right in front of his adorable little fluffy bunny, a new take on the idea of the genie - with this one coming at you from the big screen!, a coupe's struggle to rekindle their connection on a 2nd honeymoon, a partner's effort to spice up the magic in the bedroom in a super non-traditional and shocking way, a woman who is in dire need of a lawyer because she thinks she set a Chick-Fil-A on fire with her mind...
This play festival will also feature music from the awesome local musical act, Junglecorp - with their new, Magic-themed rock opera story performed in-between each of the plays! Junglecorp leaves audience members thoroughly entertained and they are excited to grace the Monkey stage for the 31st 10MPF. The Portland 10MPF is an event MWHAO produces 2-3 times a year. We feature new plays written, directed and performed by Portland artists - with a live musical act, Junglecorp, performing in-between each play! Every play is ten minutes or less and all of the plays are performed every performance night. It's a very fun, well attended event and there is nothing else like it in the city. We are theater for everybody: never turning away audience members for lack of funds and we have an open-door policy where anyone can submit a play or try out to be involved. These are your stories, Portland!
The Magic Ten Minute Play Festival will run about 2 hours with a 15 minute intermission.
