Cascade Blues Association is proud to present the Muddy Awards on Sunday, January 28th, 2024. The not-to-be-missed night of live music and awards has been a long-time tradition of the CBA for over 20 years honoring bands, solo artists, festivals and events in our music community. It is now back after a hiatus and will feature performances from award-winning acts such as Norman Sylvester, Robbie Laws, and more.

The CBA is a well-known blues association across the world preserving and promoting the blues in the Northwest. The ceremony that honors notable and outstanding blues for 2023 will take place on January 28th, 2024 at the Alberta Abbey at 126 N. Alberta Street in Portland.

THE NORMAN SYLVESTER BAND

Norman “The Boogie Cat” Sylvester has won countless Muddy Awards for consecutive years and also received the Cascade Blues Association “Back what you Believe in” award for his continued dedication and service to the music community. Norman has been playing for over 30 years, along with bass man Rob Shoemaker and a countless number of talented and iconic northwest superstars such as Dover Weinberg (Robert Cray), Patrick Lamp, Mel Brown and the late great Janice Scroggins and others including dynamic and energetic vocalist Lenanne Sylvester-Miller. Norman is committed to serving the Community, mentorship and teaching children about the origin of American Blues and Gospel and is dedicated to using his platform to help promote Health care for all in our State.

THE REVIVAL BROTHERS

The Revival Brothers Band pays tribute to the distinctive sounds of southern rock mixed with blues. A tribute to the iconic Allman Brothers Band! The band is made up of some of the most beloved and talented players in the Northwest and beyond.
