SOUL VACCINATION

Soul Vaccination remains at the top of the Portland charts, and is one of the tightest Funk & Soul Bands in the PNW. As the Rose City's favorite, Soul Vax infuses the stage with the greatest soul standards, and has been a fixture in the Northwest music scene for over 20 years.

This high energy 12 piece band features Brian Harris on Hammond B-3 and keyboards, along with the precision guitar playing of Mike Doolin and Glen Hoover. On bass is Grammy nominated producer John Linn, and on drums is Ron Tuttle, always bringin' the funk and groovin' hard. Portland's own Regina K, and Mark Wyatt share their soulful vocal styles. ANDY STOKES

The legendary Andy Stokes has been sharing his soulful voice and undeniable musical mastery with the world for more than 3 decades. The singer-songwriter, a two-time inductee to Oregon’s Music Hall of Fame and multiple award winner, is known for his powerful vocals, his multiple Billboard Hits, and his unforgettable live performances.

Andy’s silky smooth R&B style and the gritty emotion that is unique to this legendary singer, provides an eclectic, powerful, nonstop musical experience that thrills audiences throughout the United States and across the Globe. Powerful ballads and funky heart-pumping grooves, together with pure classic vocals—Andy Stokes has earned the moniker ‘The Northwest King of Soul Music’.

Andy’s ground-breaking hit single ‘Best Day Ever’ blazed up the 2018 music charts and was named one of the year’s top songs by both Billboard and the Independent Soul Charts. Quickly on it’s way to becoming a classic, ‘Best Day Ever’ consistently claims a spot in the top 10 wedding songs on streaming services, and is still in heavy rotation on radio across the world. Following the success of his first national release, Andy again brought his feel-good, up-beat, Northwest R&B sound into 2019 in a monumental way—this time teaming up Snoop Dogg and super-producer DJ Battlecat, ‘We On Da Flo’ is an impressive R&B track that hit the top 30 for five weeks and crossed genres onto the Hip Hop charts.

With millions of streams and views of prior releases, Andy’s 2022 release ‘I Don’t Give A Damn’ once again put Andy Stokes at the top of the charts. The deeply emotional ballad highlights those legendary powerful vocals with a grown-up sexy feel. IDGAD is now the 3rd top 20 song in 4 years from Andy—an extraordinary feat for an Independent Artist, made even more remarkable when considering Andy’s journey to get to this point. Once homeless, now riding high on a catalog of honest, feel-good R&B music, Andy Stokes is showing the world what the Northwest has always known—Andy Stokes is the real deal.

Andy got his start in Portland Oregon in the 80’s as lead vocals with the funk band Cool’r, signed with A&M, toured worldwide, and has performed with the likes of Peabo Bryson, Ro James, SOS Band, George Clinton and many others.

SOUL MASTERS OF FUNK

Simply born out of love and so much respect for Portland’s early R&B music scene! Soul Masters of Funk is a unique, multi-talented and sophisticated collaboration of incredible artists, all performing on the highest level in bands locally and nationally.

The brainchild and force behind this phenomenal unit is heavy-weight percussionist and MD, Brian Foxworth. The combination of original members of the band Pleasure and long-time wingman Ben Jones with power keyboardist Nick Rolf plus a who’s who all-star cast of Portland's best make this a can't-miss next-level experience! His dream was to celebrate that vibrant competitive era of new bands and original music that established Portland as a hotbed for funk and soul talent on the West Coast.

The gold era from the late 70’s to the early nineties produced so many of the city’s best and brightest, who went on to make major noise on the national soul scene, thus solidifying PDX as a reliable source of world quality music and artists for years.

Soul Masters of Funk pays tribute to the pioneers of Portland music including Pleasure and Cool’R. and many more. The band includes frontman Michael Whitmore, lead vocals, Bruce Smith on percussion, Glen Hoover and Doug Lewis on guitar, Nick Rolfe and Alex Milsted on keys. The select horn section includes Mark Hutchinson on sax, Kyle Molitor on trombone, Noah Simpson on trumpet and holding down the groove is Brian Foxworth on drums and Ben Jones on bass.
