SISTER MERCY: HIGH ENERGY R&B BLUES BAND featuring APRIL BROWN

SISTER MERCY possesses a high energy, blues driven sound. Lead singer April Brown is mesmerizing with her powerful, beautiful presence, full range vocals and complete joy in performance. The talented Scott Garcia adds guitar and vocal textures. Rounded out with Roger Espinor on drums, John Webb on bass and Debby Espinor on keys. SISTER MERCY has a unique place in the blues along with April Brown's velvet voice; the rest of the band supplies strong background vocals and original music. Semifinalist in the International Blues Challenge 2016 and 2018, SISTER MERCY was also nominated for Best New Band and Best Contemporary Blues Band for the Cascade Blues Association Muddy Awards. SISTER MERCY presents music that is a pleasure for the ears and a show that is a feast for the eyes.

  • Brika de Tar: Singer/songwriter, Brika de Tar, began her singing career over 15 yrs ago, performing in various venues throughout the Nashville music scene as well as in Portland, OR. performing at various festivals and venues. Brika‘s vocal vibe is fashioned from the world of R&B, Neo Soul, Jazz, and the genres that we all love the most. Brikas undeniable energy, sultry and transparent vocal vision on life and love will take you on a much needed journey. She has dedicated herself to creating an atmosphere in which you can feel the vulnerability of her soul’s deep love for the art of music from the first and unto the last note she sings. Be on the lookout for Brika de Tars highly anticipated debut album “Recycled Love”!

  • Claire Newrones: Claire Newrones is new to the Portland music scene, but is no stranger to singing and performing. She grew up singing at various competitions, county fairs, and being apart of various performance and travel groups. Most recently she spent 2 years in a college singing group that performed all over Southern California and New York City. Claires vocal style is inspired by the world of R&B, soul, and pop, and her love and passion for music and people is apparent with every note she sings.

  • Torry Ward: Torry Ward is no stranger to the Portland music scene. Torry is an exceptionally dynamic bassist and his professional experience extends from back in the 80s. Torry performs with undeniable musical inspirations such as Eldon T Jones and N'Touch, The LaRhonda Steele Band, Ronnie Wright, Chris Turner, and now the highly anticipated Brika de Tar & The OnYx Sol Band.

  • Brian Foxworth: As both a leader of multiple bands and sideman for national artists, Brian Foxworth has toured extensively and received critical acclaim for his performance. Brian has won multiple Cascade Blues Association awards for Best Drummer and was inducted into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame in 2015. Brian is often the first call for studio sessions and has recorded with many local and national artists and is on eight separate albums released in 2019 - including a commercial for the Oregon Department of Transportation. A partial list of performers Brian has collaborated with include Pleasure, Paul Gilbert, Curtis Salgado, The Drifters, Linda Hornbuckle, Paul deLay, Chaz Shepherd, Jazmin Ghent, and Peewee Ellis, to name a few.

  • Doug Lewis: Doug Lewis has worked with Chaka Khan, George Clinton, Toto, and many others. He is a Portland native who spent time in Tokyo playing music with many musicians.

  • Brady Goss: Propelling audiences to their feet, and to another era, with his incredible boogie-woogie piano style, Brady leaves his audiences marveling at how one could be so wild, fast and flashy all while still hitting the right notes on a piano. Brady gives it everything and leaves it all on the stage creating an exciting show every time! He is on his way to compete in Memphis for this year’s International Blues Challenge.

  • Kevin Selfe: Kevin has developed his own distinct style, a swampy, primal sound that is reminiscent of humid, summer evenings in the rural South. After moving to Portland in 2007, he’s become a leading light in the Pacific Northwest’s robust blues revival. Two-time inductee into the Cascade Blues Association Hall of Fame and 8-recipient of 8 Muddy Awards for Blues Act of the Year, his recordings have landed on the Billboard Blues Chart and been featured on SiriusXM radio.

  • Lisa Mann: Lisa’s vocals effortlessly straddle the line between the honey sweet warmth of the south, and the force-of-nature sound cultivated by mastering everything from hard rock to rhythm and blues. Her clever blues and Americana balladry is complimented by her considerable prowess on bass guitar. Her bass grooves deliver the solidness of a Muscle Shoals Swamper or a Funk Brother. Lisa is also a Blues Music Hall of Famer and recipient of many awards both in the USA and overseas.

  • Jimi Bott: With a reputation as a master on the drum kit, Jimi is always in high demand and his monster drum solos are legendary! This Blues Hall of Famer has won dozens of Blues Music Awards and Muddy Awards – he even has a Muddy Award named after him -- and has played with an ever-growing list of musicians from the Fabulous Thunderbirds, the Mannish Boys and most recently with The Proven Ones and so many more....
