Lean On Me: A Superfly Musical Review of 1972

Step back into 1972 for a live sing-along experience celebrating one of music’s most groundbreaking years. From the soulful anthems of Stevie Wonder, Bill Withers, and the Staple Singers to the unforgettable hits of Roberta Flack and Lou Reed, this was a time of bold creativity and innovative music. Relive the iconic sounds of Elton John, Toots & The Maytals, the Eagles, and many more. Come dressed in your best vintage 1970s attire and join us for an evening of powerful performances, sing-alongs, and a celebration of the artists and songs that made 1972 a most unforgettable year.

Lewis Childs discovered his passion for music as a teenager after finding an old guitar in his grandma’s closet. Since then, music has been a core part of his life. For over 25 years, he has led sing-alongs and worked as an educator, music producer, and band leader. He values the transformative experience of communal singing and feels grateful each time he brings people together through song.

Tonya Abernathy 

Tonya Abernathy is passionate about fostering community and creativity through singing. From a young age, she recognized the healing power of group singing, both for individuals and the world. She currently co-leads a small BIPOC choir and enjoys performing in supportive, prayerful settings to provide comfort and solidarity during challenging times.
